About flipnearn

flipnearn is a personal finance and expense-tracking service operated via the website flipnearn.com and an optional Android companion app. It lets you log income and expenses across 30+ categories, track loans and EMI reminders, view monthly and category-level analytics, tag and search transactions, redeem coins earned through referrals for vouchers, and quickly capture transactions shared from other apps. flipnearn is offered free of cost and does not display third-party advertisements.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use flipnearn, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the service you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use flipnearn.

1. Who we are

"flipnearn", "we", "us" or "our" refers to the operator of the flipnearn service, accessible at flipnearn.com. For any privacy-related request, you can reach us at support@webest.dev.

2. Information we collect

a. Account information

Username (required) — used to identify and log you in.
Password (required) — stored only as a one-way hash; we never see your plain password.
Email address (optional) — used for account recovery and important service notices.
Full name (optional) — shown on your profile.
Referral code — automatically generated for your account; used if another user signs up with your code.

b. Financial data you enter

Transactions: type (income/expense), amount, category, free-text remarks, tags, and date.
Loans: loan name, principal, interest rate, tenure, EMI day, and start date, used to compute EMI schedules and reminders.
Preferences: reminder time, nudge settings, and confirm-on-save toggle.
Coins & redemptions: coins earned via referrals and any voucher redemptions you request.

c. Text you share with flipnearn

If you use the OS share sheet to send text (for example a bank-transaction message) to flipnearn, or if you paste text into the transaction-parse feature, that text is processed on our server solely to pre-fill the "Add Transaction" form. You review and confirm before anything is saved. If you do not save, the text is not retained by us.

d. Android app permissions and data

The flipnearn Android app requests only the following permissions:

INTERNET — required to load the flipnearn web app inside the in-app browser.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS — so the app can show you a "Save this transaction?" prompt.
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE (optional) — only active if you explicitly grant "Notification Access" in Android Settings. When enabled, the app reads notification text from a short list of messaging and payment apps and checks whether the text looks like a bank or UPI transaction. The text is processed locally on your device. Nothing is sent to our servers unless you tap the prompt and confirm saving the transaction.

We do not read your SMS messages. The app does not request READ_SMS or RECEIVE_SMS permissions and has no access to your text-message inbox.

e. Technical data

Like most websites, our servers log basic technical information such as IP address, browser or app user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs for the purposes of security, abuse prevention, and diagnostics. Standard authentication cookies are used to keep you signed in.

3. How we use your information

To operate the service — display your own transactions, loans, analytics, and settings back to you.
To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
To run the referral and coin-reward program and process voucher redemptions you request.
To send optional reminders and EMI nudges based on the preferences you configure.
To diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
To comply with applicable law when required.

We do not use your financial data to make credit decisions, score you, or build advertising profiles.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal or financial data. We share information only in these limited cases:

Infrastructure providers who host our servers and database, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
Voucher partners — only the minimum information required to fulfil a voucher you have chosen to redeem (for example, an email address or voucher reference).
Legal requirements — if we are required to disclose information under applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful government request.
Business transfers — if flipnearn is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred, subject to this Policy.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and associated data for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual transactions or loans at any time from within the app. To delete your entire account, contact us at support@webest.dev and we will erase your account data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, redemption records for tax or fraud-prevention purposes).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS in transit, hashed passwords, server-side access controls, and per-user data isolation. No online service is 100% secure, so we also encourage you to use a strong unique password and keep your device secure.

7. Children

flipnearn is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the service. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it.

8. Your rights and choices

Access & correction — you can view and edit your transactions, loans, profile, and settings at any time from inside the app.
Deletion — you can delete individual records, or request full-account deletion by emailing us.
Revoke Notification Access — you can turn off the Android Notification Listener at any time from Android Settings → Notifications → Notification access.
Opt-out of reminders — toggle reminders, nudges, and confirm-on-save inside the Account screen.

9. Third-party services on the marketing site

The public marketing pages use Google Fonts and the Lucide icon CDN to render typography and icons. These providers may log standard HTTP request data. They do not have access to your account or financial data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where possible. Continued use of flipnearn after an update means you accept the revised policy.
